Freshly Made Sketches 200

Hello, blogger friends!  Once again, it's been a while since I've been on the blog.  I'm still card making, but just haven't been posting lately.  Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th sketch with a giveaway, and I need to make a card for my mother in law who had an accident a couple days ago.  So. . .this card came together quite nicely.

I used the Stampin' Up set, Crazy about You. This set comes with several floral images and lots of sentiments.  An added bonus is some matching edge lets.  I used wisteria wonder for my color and the coordinating designer paper.  Love how it looks!  I added a pearl for good measure, and here is my card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday 383

Hello, blogger friends!  I'm trying once again to get back to posting more often.  Life has been busy once again, but I'm going to try hard not to let that be my excuse.  My hubby and I will be moving to a different house in March, but at least for now, I can do a little stamping and posting.

When I saw this sketch on Mojo Monday's weekly sketch challenge, I immediately thought of Stampin Up's Blessed Easter stamp.  I am working on some sets of greeting cards for a customer who only wants me to use this set.  I've had it since last year and think it is retired, but I still love it, and it still works great for all occasion cards ( I snipped the greeting off.) Plus, it does make me hopeful that spring really is just 6 weeks away!  All products used are from Stampin Up, and if anyone would like dimensions or has questions, just let me know in the comments.  Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired by Stamping September Customer Gallery Contest

Hello, blogger friends!  As I look at the date of my last post, I'm wondering where all the time has gone!  It's a long story!  I've continued making cards, but I was working part time and I moved from northern Indiana to southwestern Illinois in February.  It took me awhile to get my craft room up and running and then my husband decide to remodel it for me.  It's about half done as I write today, but I have made it workable, and I know it will be wonderful when it is finished.  Last kink in my crafting:  my husband had to have triple bypass surgery on July 21st, and that is when all my crafting got put on hold.  Jim is doing great, 8 weeks later.  We walk almost every day and are up to between 1 and 2 miles a day.  Actually, sometimes I struggle to keep up with Jim, so the walking has been good for me, too.

So here I am.  A friend asked me to make a card for her daughter's birthday.  She wanted me to do something with flowers, and I immediately thought of the Inspired by Stamping set, Spring Lilacs.  I also used the Spring Lilac paper also by IBS.  My sentiment came from the Graceful Hydrangea set by IBS.  The card idea itself came from a video tutorial by Dawn Olchefske called the Fancy Fold Screen Divider Card Video.  It was actually quite simple to make.

When I got finished, I realized I could enter this card in the IBS September Gallery Contest since I used almost all IBS products (the scripture verse came from Taylored Expressions Faith in Bloom set).  So here is my card with some views of each panel, and my absence from blogging is over!

IBS Sketch and Birthday Challenge

Hello, blogger friends!  Long time, no blogging, huh?  Several vacations AND a new job have been keeping me busy.  I've actually been making cards, but I have not been making deadlines for the challenges.  I've also started back into scrapbooking, in an effort to catch up with my youngest child's childhood pictures (she is 30).  So, I have been a little busy.

When I saw the latest Inspired by Stamping 2 year birthday challenge, I just had to play.  I love the Inspired by Stamping stamps and flowers and ribbons.  For this card, I used the Happy Sentiment set to stamp the greeting.  The size of the letters makes a great focal point for my card.  My paper is from the Happy Harvest fall line from Doodlebug Designs.  I also used some crochet lace from the Inspired by stamping store.  Love it!

I think this card will also qualify for the Inspired by Stamping Sketch challenge.  I used Sketch #1.  Happy birthday, Inspired by Stamping!

Freshly Made Sketches 88

Happy Sunday afternoon, blogger friends.  I made this card for the Freshly Made Sketches #88 challenge. I love this sketch by Jen M.  There are so many possiblities!

DSP:  Kate and Co. by My Mind's Eye, Cambridge Flowers Paper
Card stock:  Bermuda Bay and Whisper White
Ink:  Bermuda Bay
Ribbon came from my stash, as did the pearl bling.

I worked on Thursday and Friday at the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention here in Fort Wayne.  The vendor I worked for had the most beautiful new paper, and the paper above was from one of them.  I had so much fun shopping with the vendors.  If they come again, maybe I will even take a few classes.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!   Thanks for stopping by:  I love reading your comments.

The Paper Players Sketch Challenge #147

Hello, blogger friends!  I saw this challenge at The Paper Players and thought it would be great for a graduation card.  My niece Abi and my former student Jen just graduated from Triad High School (THS) in Troy, IL.  Their school colors are red, black, and white.  With those colors in mind, the card came together easily.  The star is from a retired SU set, In the Stars.  I stamped it in black, and then I covered it with versamark ink and embossed the star with Iridescent Ice.  The 2013 is from the Harvest Mini Alphabet set.

Sorry so short!  I am working to help set up a vendor display at the Creative Keepsakes scrapbook convention here in Fort Wayne.  I've never done this before, but it sounded like fun.  If you have any questions, just let me know.  I love reading your comments.

Merry Monday #63

Happy Friday, blogger friends!  Today I finished my card for the Merry Monday #63 challenge.  I've had it in mind ever since I saw the sketch on Monday.  I've been wondering how to use this patterned paper, Sweet Christmas Holiday Cookies from TPC Studio, and this sketch was the perfect place to use it.  The green polka dot paper was on the reverse side of the gingerbread paper!  I matted the patterned paper with some pear pizzazz and stamped and embossed the sentiment on more pear pizzazz.  My gingerbread boy came from a punch.  I added the white gel pen around the edges and a few sparkly "buttons".  It's not my usual Christmas card, but I like it just the same.

Thanks for stopping by.  I enjoy reading all your comments.  Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
