Pals Paper Arts Challenge: Putting on the Ritz

I just made another card with the Sounding Joy set, and I think this one qualifies for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge of the week, Putting on the Ritz.

Here is my version of a glitzed up Sounding Joy card:

I used Concord Crush and Silver glimmer paper, added silver embossing to the star words, and added pewter embossing to the Joy.  I then added two kinds of ribbon behind the main image, and there it is:  a ritzy Sounding Joy card.  What fun!

Sympathy Card

I seem to be having to make a lot of sympathy cards lately so this time I decided to use this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge to design my card.

I used Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, and Presto Patterns specialty papers.  For the ink, I used Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.  The butterfly comes from the Stampin Up set, Thanks for Caring.  The greeting is from All Year Wishes 1, a new set from Inspired by Stamping designer Joanna Munster.  The Scallop Circle # 2 die and the Creative Memory Circle system were used  in the middle.  I hope this counts for the challenge.  I do like the way it turned out.  I have a bunch of presto pattern paper that I should use up. Thanks for visiting!

December 3: very early

Hi!  I've been stamping but haven't posted anything.  I'm trying to finish my Christmas cards so I can get them in the mail.  I've done a variety this year instead of my usual just one card.  This week I've put all the insides in the cards.  Now to address and mail them.  Fun!
I tried to do a challenge but I didn't manage to get it loaded on time.  I'll post it on here though.  I think its kind of busy, but then again, I kind of like it.  I used some designer paper I bought at Stamping Day and Night here in Fort Wayne.  It's a store dedicated to stamping and is basically a stamper's paradise!  When I can get my act together, I'll write the recipe for this card.  I used a couple of retired Stampin Up stamps, an embossing folder, and heat embossed the snowflakes and the snowman's hat.

One more bit of news:  we had a few inches of snow on Tuesday afternoon, evening.  It rained from Sunday through Tuesday and then changed over to snow:  big, fluffy flakes.  I didn't have to drive in it so I loved watching it.  I've heard it snows a lot here:  this is my first winter in northern Indiana.  We'll see!
This one is from our living room window in the apartment.

I came downstairs and took this one from our door.  I love the snow falling!

My first post!

I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while now and here I am!  I've been scrapbooking for about 14 years and card making for the last 7.  In the past 6 months, I've started following card making blogs and that has me interested in trying some of the challenges.  So here I am.  This will be a learning experience for me, but since I like reading other people's blogs, maybe someone might find something they like on mine.  I'll be sharing pictures of my card creations and maybe even some stories from my life.    Fun!   Here's a picture of the card I shared on the Freshly Made Challenge.  I love this stamp set!
