IBSIC #6 Sketch Challenge

Hi again, blogger friends!  This is another one of the baby announcement cards I made today for my daughter to choose from.  I got this sketch from Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #6.  I thought this sketch was perfect for a baby card, especially since my daughter wanted the whale, and I could make the bottom section look like water and put the whale floating in it.  I used Pacific Point and Lucky Limeade again.  My stamp sets were Fox and Friends and Nursery Necessities.

By the way, she really liked this one.  I'm going to make a few changes for her tomorrow:  she wants me to somehow incorporate the baby's name on the front, maybe in the flags on the banner.  I think that could be cute!

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #32

Hello, blogger friends!  I've spent most of Saturday afternoon and evening working on birth announcement choices for my daughter.  The baby is due in June so I need to get busy!  She wants blue and lime, so I used lucky lime aid and Pacific Point to make this card with the Freshly Made Sketch #32.   She also wanted a whale because the little outfit she got to bring the baby home has a whale on it.  I used the whale from Fox and Friends.  The boat comes from Nursery Necessities. I did some paper piecing on the boat and popped up the blue sail with a dimensional.  I embossed the background with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  I think it kind of looks like waves!

I gave her a bunch of choices, so we'll see which one she picks.  Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Monday Challenge #17

Hi again, blogger friends!  I also finished my Merry Monday Challenge #17 this evening.    I'm running kind of low on Christmas DSP in my stash, so I made a trip this afternoon to Stamping Day and Night, which is a wonderful stamping store here in Fort Wayne.  One of my finds was this paper by Imaginisce called Cottage Christmas, Winter Woods.  The trees are on one side and the brown background on the other.  I used Garden Green as my base and matted the DSP on more garden green.  My image and sentiment came from Deer Friends.  I stamped the image in black ink and punched it out.  Then I stamped and embossed in wild wasabi, added some iridescent ice embossing powder, and popped it up on dimensionals.  It's different from my usual cards, but sometimes different can be good.

By the way, Stamping Day and Night is having a garage sale next week.  Customers can bring in stamp sets and sell them for store credit.  It's a good way to get rid of stamp sets I don't use and get some new ones in the process.  Fun!

My husband and I are hoping to take a day trip to Holland, Michigan, tomorrow to see some tulips.  I know the flowers have been early this year, but I am hoping there are a few left.  I'll be sure to take some pictures.  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Players Challenge #92

Hello blogger friends!  It's late again, but I wanted to be sure and post the cards I made this evening.  This one is for the Paper Players Challenge #92.  Believe it or not, there is no stamping (or distressing) done on the background.  I found some gorgeous DSP at Archivers last week when I was looking for doilies for another challenge.  This paper is from Simple Stories:  Generations, Always and Forever.  One side had the brown gingham and the other had the gorgeous doilies.  I added chocolate chip matting to a crumb cake base.  My scallops had a layer of lace, too.  I used the With All My Heart stamp set for the image and the sentiment and added a couple pearls.  It was fairly easy, but I struggled over what image and sentiment to use.  I'd never seen a doily design in browns, but I'm thinking it could even be used for a masculine card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Mashup Challenge #55

Hi again, blogger friends!  For the past 2 weeks, I've had plans to make a card for the Friday Mashup, and I've missed the deadlines both times.  I even had the card finished this week, and when I went to the website, I realized I'd missed the deadline again!  So when I saw this week's Friday Mashup Challenge #55 today, I decided to get to work and finish it on Friday and post it!  I actually qualify for the mashup since I used the sketch and I did the versamark masking.  Yes!

For this card, I used a marina mist card stock stamped with a Hero Arts Aged Print frame.  I used a piece of SU DSP and framed it with early espresso.  My masked image came from the Nature Walk set, brayered with marina mist ink.  The little bird is from the SU Bliss set, and the sentiment is from SU Sweet Little Sentiments.

I loved the "I ain't afraid of no ghosts" theme  this week.  I still remember when Ghostbusters came out, and my boys were going through the house singing that song.  Fun times, good memories!  And, I did have fun making this card.

Thanks for stopping by!

IBSIC #5

Hello, blogger friends!  I hope everyone has had a good Friday so far.  I finished two card challenges this afternoon.  The first one is for the Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #5.  We were to use the above photo for inspiration and use a doily, pink, craft,  and cream.  I had no doilies in my stash, so I took a trip to Archivers at the mall here in town yesterday afternoon.  I ended up finding several doily based designer papers, a couple stamps, and some heart doilies. I have decided that I need to order Joanna's doily set soon!  The paper I chose for this card is My Mind's Eye, Love Me "Doilies" paper.  One side is the pink and cream gingham, and the other side is lots of pink doilies.  I embossed the Tiny Teacup stamp in gold and made a gold saucer out of the small oval punch.  The sentiment comes from IBS's All Year Wishes 1.  I added some flowers with a touch of pink and some pearls and placed it all on some kraft card stock.

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Players Challenge #91 and Freshly Made Sketches #31

Good morning, blogger friends!  We had a beautiful day here yesterday, and I managed to even get out and take a walk with my dear husband.  The violets are blooming here, and since they are my favorite flower, I was inspired to use this image to water color for the Paper Players Challenge #91.  The sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #31 worked perfectly for this image when I flipped it.

I used elegant eggplant and wisteria wonder for my main card stock layers.  I did some embossing with a Cuttlebug folder.  My image was from an old SU stamp called Violets for You that I found at a friend's yard sale and have never inked up.  I used my blender pen and reinkers to water color the image.  I popped up one blossom with a dimensional and added a dab of glitter to the center of each flower.  The sentiment comes from Something to Celebrate.

My own mom passed away in 1986, so Mother's Day always makes me kind of sad.  When I finished this card, I was wishing I still had the chance to send it to her since she knew how much I love violets and all shades of purple.  This year I do have a wonderful mother in law, so it will be on the way to her.

Have a great Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday 237

Hi blogger friends!  I hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday afternoon.  I had some time to do some stamping, so I did the Mojo Monday 237 sketch.  I liked working with Mary's sketch:  so many possibilities!  I went with a whisper white card stock base and added a piece of rich razzleberry DSP on some rich razzleberry card stock.  I added old olive to rich razzleberry for the middle section.  I stamped the little medallions with my Just Because stamp in rich razzleberry, old olive, and tangerine tango.  Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Merry Monday Challenge #16

Hello, blogger friends!  Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend with loved ones.  It's almost 9:00 pm, and I just finished the Merry Monday Challenge  #16 on a Monday!  I won this stamp set from Lisa at Friday Mashup and have been waiting for the right sketch to use it.  This sketch was perfect.  I inked up the main image and embossed with white on night of navy card stock. I layered the sketch on some silver glimmer paper and then a layer of black card stock.  My DSP is some SU paper with white flocked snowflakes.  I added the DSP to a brilliant blue card stock base.  The little dove comes from SU Holiday Tag Team, and the Happy Holidays comes from a hostess set, Riveting.  My Christmas cards for the week are finished, and my husband finished the taxes, too.  Yes!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

IBSIC #4

Hello again, blogger friends.  The second card I made tonight is for the Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #4.  I used soft sky  for my card stock base and Follow Your Heart "Be Happy" Honey Pink Paper for my designer paper.  The flower images came from Easy Elegance and were stamped in Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink ink.  I used Pear Pizzazz for the stems and leaves.  The sentiment came from Pocket Silhouettes.  It's not my usual style, but I think I like it.

Thanks for stopping by.  I love reading your comments.

Freshly Made Sketches #30

Hi, blogger friends!  It's Saturday night, and my husband had to work tonight, so I made some cards.  This one is for the Freshly Made Sketch.  I decided to emboss the Medallion image with cherry cobbler embossing powder.  I fussy cut the image, and then I cut it in half.  I layered this image on some Well Worn DSP and some white.  I used an image from Friends 24-7 in Crumb Cake, and I stamped my sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes in cherry cobbler ink.  Here it is:  another masculine birthday card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Players Challenge #90 and Mojo Monday #236

Happy Thursday, blogger friends!  This afternoon I decided to combine the Paper Players Challenge with the Mojo Monday Sketch for the week.    I finished my card, and then checked the Paper Players blog and see that there are several similar to mine.  I try not to look at the blog until I'm finished so I won't be copying.  I guess great minds think alike.  Anyway, this is my card.

I cut out panels for the middle section in not quite navy, pool party, and certainly celery.  I embossed with three different embossing folders and made the layers.  Since I thought the card looked masculine, I added some early espresso ribbon with just a knot.  My sentiment came from the SU set Party Hearty.    Now I'm ready for the next guy birthday that comes along.  Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Monday Challenge #15

Hello blogger friends!  Happy Wednesday evening!  Just finished my card for Merry Monday Challenge #15.  I decided on real red card stock and DSP on a white card stock base.  I originally decided to have my background using the paper on the second card.  Since I usually make 4, I was taping my layers together and made a mistake with the first card by putting the tape on the wrong side.  I decided to leave it like it was and use the bird image from Northern Hearts.  And guess what?  I think I like the first one better!  I think the bird image on the DSP looks pretty good.   Thanks for stopping by

By the way, happy birthday to my granddaughter, Sabrina.  She turns 4 today!!

IBSIC#3

Happy Easter, blogger friends!  I hope everyone reading this has had a wonderful day.  It's been beautiful here.

This is the third card I've posted using this stamp set, but I thought it was appropriate for the Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge.  I used white card stock as my background and then added some daffodil delight DSP, some embossed light green (not sure if it's certainly celery or a retired Stampin Up color).  I inked up the tulips with shades of peach parfait and pear pizzazz.  My sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping's All Year Wishes I.     I also added some ribbon and pearls to make the card complete.

I'm stuck on tulips this spring.  They are still blooming here in Indiana.  I never tire of seeing them.  Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #29

Hello, blogger friends!  Happy day before Easter!  It's been a busy week for me, but my husband is at work this evening, so I thought I'd finish up a few challenges.  This one is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I decided to use my Nature Walk set and the DSP that went with it when it first came out.  I don't have a lot of it left, but I think this has to be my most favorite set and paper ever.  I used cherry cobbler and early espresso for the card stock.  I stamped the bird in soft suede, but something seemed to be missing until I decided to color him in like the robins that are hopping around the yard.  Perfect!  The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping, All Year Wishes I.

Have a wonderful Easter everyone!  He is risen!

Merry Monday Challenge #14

Hello, blogger friends!  Here I am with my card for the Merry Monday Challenge #14.  I decided to go with Riding Hood Red this week as my card base.  I added some designer paper I found at Joann's, both the DSP and the embossed paper.  My image came from A Flower for All Seasons which I colored in with ink and a blender pen.  I added some bling to the center of my poinsettias and layered the image.  My sentiment comes from Petite Pairs, which fits perfectly in the window punch.    There you have it:  my card for the week is done and I'm that much closer to being ready when Christmas card season rolls around.  Love it!

IBSIC #2

Hi, blogger friends!  I took a long nap this afternoon, and now, here I am, not sleepy again.  I guess this is as good a time as any to post the card I made last night for the Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #2.

I love Joanna's sketch this week, and I decided to go with an Easter card using the A Flower for All Seasons stamp set.  My DSP is more from My Mind's Eye, Follow Your Heart.  My sentiment is from Something to Celebrate, and I stamped the flowers from Punch Potpourri. My main colors are pool party, blushing bride, and daffodil delight, with a little bit of melon mambo thrown in.  I hope my mother in law in Colorado likes it:  this card will soon be headed her way.

Thanks for stopping by!
